The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5500

    Bowflex TreadClimber TC5500

This machine effectively embodies three different types of trainer into one device. The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5500 is able to perform the function of a treadmill, a stair climber, and an elliptical trainer.

This ability to combine three different types of exercise machine into one unit has resulted in the “tread climber” being one of the most popular cardio exercise devices on the market.

This is the flagship model out of the three machines in the range and incorporates “G.O. Coach” technology (Goal-Oriented programming) to help set, track, and meet your specific fitness goals.

Features:

  • Treadmill mode: The running surface is split down the middle so that, in actual fact, there are two independently powered surfaces. When the equipment is put into “treadmill” mode, however, the two running surfaces come together enabling the two running surfaces to operate in unison and give the appearance and feel that you are running on one uniform, rolling surface. In this configuration, the machine behaves exactly as a conventional treadmill.
  •

  • Stair climber mode: When the equipment is put into its “stair climber” mode, the two running surfaces that were joined together to form the treadmill running surface now act independently and form two separate “treadles”. The machine may now be used as a conventional “stair climber” offering a good cardio workout, but with the added benefits of low impact on the joints that this type of exercise affords.
  •

  • Elliptical mode: Putting the equipment into its “elliptical” mode combines the actions of the machine when in its “treadmill” and “stair climber” mode and produces an action which is similar to the action of an elliptical exercise machine. To achieve this, the “treadles” move independently as is the case with the “stair climber” mode but additionally, the surface of each “treadle” moves like the surface on a treadmill. This again results in a good cardiovascular, but low-impact workout.
  •

  • Shock absorption: Walking and running are the most natural and enjoyable forms of exercising you can engage in, but the continual pounding can take a toll on your joints. With the equipment in either its “stair climber” or “elliptical” mode, the harmful impact on your ankles, knees, hips, and back is greatly reduced compared to running on a treadmill.
  •

  • Elliptical without restraints: Although conventional elliptical machines are able to provide an excellent cardiovascular workout with minimal impact on your joints, they do have one drawback. This is because on a regular elliptical machine, your feet are locked onto the footpad and can become numb after some time. This is not the case with the elliptical mechanism on this machine where your foot is able to move naturally and so avoids this problem.
  •

  • Vary your intensity: There is a range of twelve different intensity settings to enable you to adjust the amount of resistance you wish to apply to your workout. You can adjust your workout settings based upon your level of expertise or your desired comfort level.
  •

  • Track your progress: The equipment has a display that tracks your essential workout data. On these displays, you are able to track 15 functions: Time, Distance, Custom, Calorie Count, HR Workout, and Nine Landmark Challenges. Additionally, there is a Calories Burned Indicator that shows calories burned per minute and total calories burned, and a Climb Indicator that visually tracks your distance in miles.

    Bowflex TreadClimber TC5500 console

G.O. Coach: The Goal-Orientated (G.O.) Coach Console is an interactive program that interacts with the user in order to establish goals, monitor progress, and compare results with previous weeks as well as other users.

In addition to the standard workouts, the G.O. Coach has 9 Challenge Landmark Workouts. You start off with 3 landmarks (Lady Liberty, Space Needle, TransAmerica Tower). You then earn 6 additional world landmarks by completing the goals you set in G.O. Coach. With sufficient trophies, additional landmarks are unlocked.

You can personalize your workout with customizable goal-oriented programming: Set, monitor, and track personal fitness goals and improvements. Stay motivated and “hooked” onto your workouts thanks to the interactive nature of the console.

By experiencing the magic of unlocking hidden, interactive, pictorial workout programs as you reach successive goals, your workout time becomes more fun. The exciting challenges and fun rewards built into the system mean that you will look forward to your daily workout.

Safety first: Stepping onto or off from an exercise machine such as a treadmill can have its dangers. The equipment is fitted with large footboards alongside the tread belts, making starting or stopping your exercise session a lot safer. Also fitted are substantial side handles that provide reassuring support both when getting on and off the machine and during a workout session, as well as a safety key on the console.

Satisfaction guaranteed: Bowflex claims that if you’re not completely satisfied with the quality of your results, you may return the product, in its original condition and packaging, and receive a full refund of the purchase price, less shipping and handling.
