ProForm Power 1080i Treadmill
This is a model from ProForm’s “Power” series lineup. The ProForm Power 1080i is a folding treadmill driven by a 3.25 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro motor and features iFIT technology.
iFIT Enabled
The treadmill is iFIT enabled. The benefits of the iFIT technology include engaging in workouts enhanced by Google maps that simulate the terrain of the trail you are following and training sessions with Jillian Michaels.
An impressive variety of workouts are split into four functional groups. These comprise 8 speed, 8 incline, 8 intensity, and 8 calorie workouts. The workout data is shown on a large (10″) backlit display which shows speed, time, distance, calories burned, pulse, and incline.
The built-in “Intermix Acoustics 2.0 EQ” sound system delivers a rich, equalized sound and has a compatible music port for an iPod or any other MP3 player. The iPod rests on the console shelf, so that it is within easy reach and leaves the controls right at your fingertips.
The treadmill is underwritten by a lifetime frame and motor warranty, 5 years parts warranty, and a 2-year labor warranty.

Drive Motor
This treadmill is driven by a 3.25 CHP motor. This motor utilizes high-grade wiring, insulation, and a thermal cut-off switch. Additionally, through the use of high-end, commercial bearings and brushes, this motor delivers the longest, most powerful drive possible.
The Commercial Pro motor is also dynamically spin-balanced and extensively tested for superior performance in vibration and noise to deliver a smooth and quiet operation.
Cushioning System
Working out on a treadmill is an ideal form of exercise and allows for completely natural and unrestrained movement of your limbs. The one drawback is that the constant pounding can take its toll on your joints.
The ProShox Cushioning system employed on this model has been designed to reduce the impact on your joints and deliver a more comfortable surface on which to walk, jog, or run.
iFIT Enabled
This treadmill is iFIT enabled. In essence, this is a wireless connection between the Internet and the treadmill. The iFIT feature allows you to experience trails all over the globe just as if you were running outside.
iFIT enables you to customize your own fitness program, receive automatic workout downloads, manage your profile online, and work out with Jillian Michaels. You can even add the thrill of competition to your workout with 5k races against your Facebook friends.
It should be noted that this feature requires a home wireless internet connection and membership to iFIT.
Heart Rate Monitor
The treadmill is equipped with a Dual-Grip heart rate monitor. The built-in precision sensors allow you to quickly and accurately monitor your heart rate. Simply grip the built-in sensors to quickly and accurately monitor your heart rate, stay within your optimum training zone, and burn more fat.
The treadmill is also provided with a wireless chest pulse strap. This allows for the transmission of heart rate information to the treadmill’s console without the need to place your hands on the handlebar-mounted contact sensors, which can be inconvenient when running.
Speed Adjustment
The treadmill comes equipped with “QuickSpeed” control. This means that you can easily jump to any speed within the range 0 – 12 MPH with one touch at any time during your workout. You can decrease your speed immediately when you are tired and need a break, or increase it instantly for a challenging burst.
Incline
The treadmill is also fitted with a “Quick Incline” control. This allows you to electronically change the degree of slope up or down throughout your workout from the control panel. The slope of the incline can be adjusted within the range 0% to 15%. You can simulate running uphill and add both challenge and variety to your exercise session.
Decline
This treadmill also has a decline feature. Usually only available on more expensive treadmills, the deck is able to decline from level down to a -3% decline. This feature allows you to activate different muscles for faster results by walking at a decline. Walking on a decline will enable you to burn more calories than walking on a flat surface and stimulate more muscle for faster results.
iPod Compatible
The treadmill features a universal iPod connection. You can now enjoy your workout while you play your favorite music through the built-in Intermix Acoustics 2.0 EQ sound system. The system delivers improved clarity while reproducing a wide range of audio frequencies. Simply plug in, press play, and listen to your favorite sounds while you exercise.
User Weight
When choosing a treadmill, you should make sure that any potential users do not exceed the manufacturer’s stated upper weight limit. The upper weight limit of this treadmill is 350 lbs.
Folding Frame
Most treadmills of any reasonable quality are fairly bulky items that take up a fair amount of floor space. This treadmill helps to minimize this problem with its “Space Saver” folding frame.
When you have completed your exercise workout, the running deck of the treadmill can be raised to a near-upright position, thus taking up less floor space. The folding feature includes an “easy lift” mechanism to assist in raising or lowering the deck.
