NordicTrack X15i Incline Trainer Review

The NordicTrack X15i incline trainer presents the user with a range of inclines that will work virtually all the muscles in your legs, especially those used in hiking and climbing.

This incline trainer boasts an integrated 15″ HD TV in addition to a 10″ color, touch screen with built-in web browser which allows the user to check their email, surf the web or keep up with their social networking activities.

The integration of iFIT technology using Google Maps allows the user to recreate any route in the world in addition to downloading additional workouts and training with Jillian Michaels!

The “1 -Touch” power incline can take you instantly to slopes varying between – 6 % to 40% of grade. With the power incline, you can start out flat and simulate a climb as you warm up without interrupting your fitness workout.

To help protect your joints from harmful impact, the trainer features NordicTrack’s legendary “Reflex” cushioning. Reflex cushioning suspends nearly the entire length of the deck between two isolators, giving it the ability to absorb more impact.

Each one of these have been designed by a certified personal trainer and automatically adjust the incline and speed of the machine. The workouts focus on calorie-burning, incline, speed or intensity goals.

Powering this trainer is a DurX 4.5 CHP Commercial Plus motor. This motor has been designed to deliver smooth, quiet performance during the most vigorous workout.

1-Touch control is used to control speed. Instead of tediously scrolling through options, the 1-Touch system allows you to instantly change the speed of the treadmill between 0-12 MPH with the single touch of a button. You can decrease your speed immediately when you need a rest, or increase it instantly for a challenging workout.

1-Touch control technology is also used in order to change the incline. A single touch of a button is all that is required instead of tediously scrolling through options as you would with traditional incline controls. The incline can be adjusted between -6 deg. up to 40 deg. of grade.

This trainer features a web enabled, color, touch screen. This innovative feature brings the whole treadmill experience bang up to date by enabling the user to get online while indulging in an exhilarating workout.

To further enhance your hiking experience, iFIT automatically adjusts your incline to simulate the physical features of the terrain.

You can work out with Jillian Michaels, customize your own fitness program, receive automatic workout downloads and manage your profile online. You are also able to add competition to your workout with 5k races against your Facebook friends.

This trainer takes the shock out of running with “Reflex” cushioning. This specially developed cushioning increases workout comfort, while keeping your joints protected from the rigors of exercise.

Most cushioning systems use a single isolator in the middle of the deck to absorb impact. The Reflex cushioning system, however, suspends nearly the whole of the deck between two isolators. This allows it to absorb more impact at heel-strike, while maintaining stability at toe-off.

… safety key

The treadclimber comes with a safety key and lanyard. In order for the equipment to be operational the key must be present in the control console. This means that with the key withdrawn the machine cannot be operated by unauthorized users such as small children.

The safety key has a lanyard with a small plastic clip attached to one end which can be clipped onto the users clothing. If the user were to accidentally trip or fall while on the equipment the key is pulled away from the console causing the walking belt to slow to a stop.

The model features the latest, Intermix Acoustics 3.0 sound system with two 3″ speakers that deliver full, rich sound. The user simply plugs their iPOD or any other MP3 player into the music port press in order to listen to their favorite music during the workout.
