This is the range topper in NordicTrack’s lineup of forward drive elliptical trainers. The NordicTrack Elite 16.7 boasts an integrated 15″ HD TV in addition to a 10″ color touch screen with a built-in web browser.

The user is able to select from up to 40 challenging programs to engage their interest and help achieve specific fitness goals. Additionally, there are 26 digital resistance levels which can be selected to help burn more calories or just tone up.

A key design feature of this model is the power ramp. The user is able to adjust the incline up to 20% from a button on the console and alter the shape of their stride. This allows the user to concentrate on developing one or more specific muscle groups.

This elliptical trainer is iFIT enabled. Using Google Map technology, the iFIT facility greatly enhances the workout experience. Train with Jillian Michaels and receive workout downloads. This requires a home wireless internet connection and a subscription to iFIT, which is sold separately.

Other highlights include: Silent Magnetic Resistance braking, a heart rate monitor (with a wireless chest strap), a back-lit display, an automatic workout fan, and a sound system with iPOD / MP3 connectivity.

The machine is covered by a strong warranty, offering a lifetime warranty on the frame, 5 years on all parts, and 2 years labor.

An innovative feature of this trainer is the “power ramp”. The elevation of the ramp can be adjusted between the values of 0% to 20% directly from a button on the control panel.

Just like a normal display screen, the user can check their progress, but the user is able to navigate through menus and pull up relevant workout data with just a swipe of the finger.

The touch screen display works with the built-in iFIT module to enable the user to enjoy the experience of watching their workout progress in real-time via Google Maps Street View technology.

The trainer is also equipped with a “CardioGrip” heart rate monitor. By monitoring your heart rate using the sensors built into the handlebars, you can make the most out of each workout.

A wireless chest strap is also included, which continuously transmits your heart rate data to the display without the need to touch the heart rate sensors on the handlebars.

… Auto Cooling Fan

A strenuous workout can leave you feeling hot and sticky, but this elliptical trainer provides the perfect solution with an integrated workout cooling fan.

The fan has low, high, and auto settings. When the auto setting is selected, the speed of the fan will automatically adjust itself to the speed at which you are pedaling.

The console-mounted fan is operated from a button on the control panel and helps to keep you cool during the most strenuous workouts.
