The 20″ x 56″ tread belt on the LifeSpan TR2000 is driven by a 2.5 CHP motor. This folding treadmill benefits from a shock absorption system fitted with 8 variable Density Elastomers.
A variety of in-built workouts are arranged thematically into four different groups. These themes consist of programs that feature: Speed workouts, Incline workouts, User Customized workouts and Heart Rate Control workouts.
The console incorporates a large, blue, back lit display which shows all relevant workout data including: calories burned, workout time, current speed, current incline, heart rate, distance traveled and step count.
Unusually, for a treadmill at this price point the walking deck is able to decline as well as incline. The ability to walk on a decline helps to burn more calories and stimulates more muscle groups.
An interesting safety feature present on this model is the Intelli-Guard system. This feature will sense when the user is no longer present and pause the tread belt.
The product is protected by a lifetime cover on the motor, and frame, with 5 yrs cover on parts and 1 year labor warranty.
Here are the main highlights of this model:
We are all keen to achieve our individual fitness goals when working out on a treadmill and a big factor for success is having a good variety of workout programs to both stimulate and engage our interest.
This treadmill benefits from a number of built-in workout programs that are grouped together thematically.
Having the workouts grouped together in themes makes it easier for the user to choose the correct workout for the intended goal they are trying to reach. There are four program groups:
INCLINE – this grouping consists of 6 workout programs which vary the gradient of deck incline through the course of the programs.
SPEED – this program group consists of 6 workout programs which vary the pace throughout the course of the programs.
USER CUSTOMIZED – this has 2 user setup programs that allow the user to design their own customized programs in order achieve the user’s desired workout needs. These programs allow the user to set the speed and incline levels for each of the 12 program sections.
HEART RATE CONTROL – this comprises of two programs. The first HRC program keeps your heart rate at a constant level while the second HRC program allows the user to input a minimum and maximum heart rate. During the workout the resistance automatically adjusts to keep the heart rate of the user at a constant level.
Back lit display
A large blue back lit display mounted on the control console provides simultaneous readouts. These show all your essential workout data in an easy to read format.
The workout data displayed includes: shows calories burned, workout time, current speed, current incline, heart rate, distance traveled and step count.
Heart rate monitor
The treadmill is fitted with a heart rate monitor. This feature helps the user to make the most out of their workout by monitoring their heart rate via sensors that are located on the handlebars.
The ability to monitor heart rate helps the user to be in the correct training zone for their goals. This results in a more effective workout, burning more fat, and improving cardiovascular health.
Many people are interested to know just how many steps they have taken on the treadmill or alternatively wish to program their workout so that it ends after completing a specific number of steps.
A unique feature of this model is the “Intelli-Step” system. This function senses when your foot touches the tread belt and registers it as one step so that the user is able to count the number of steps taken during the course of the workout.
Additionally the user is able to program in the number of steps they wish to take and the Intelli-Step system will display the number of steps you have taken until the target number of steps is reached.
A set of conveniently placed control buttons are built into the handlebars. These supplement the controls on the control panel and allow the user to safely adjust both the speed and the incline of the treadmill by use of these switches.
The benefit of this feature is that it enables the user to make adjustments to the speed and incline during their workout without having to access the speed and incline controls on the control panel. This alleviates the risk involved in losing balance when leaning forward to the main control panel.
The walking deck can be adjusted from flat to 8% of grade via 10 incremental levels. Many of the in-built workout programs incline the walking deck so that the user is able to simulate walking uphill.
The user also has the facility to adjust the incline level using the buttons on the main control console or by using the incline buttons on the handlebars.
One of the innovative features found on this model is the ability to decline the walking deck. This is a function that is usually only found on much more expensive treadmills and enables the deck to decline from flat via 5 incremental levels.
The ability to decline the walking deck benefits the user by activating different sets of muscles and help in achieving fitness goals. The ability to walk on a decline will also help to burn more calories than walking on a level surface and so stimulate more muscle for quicker results.
Dynamic safety pause
If you step off most treadmills in the middle of a program the tread belt will continue to move. In this state the moving tread belt represents a significant hazard.
This model addresses this feature with it’s Intelli-Guard feature. This system will sense when the user is no longer on the belt and pause the tread belt.
Some users can feel slightly insecure when working out on a treadmill, especially if they are new to them. This model provides the user with an added feeling of security with its wraparound handlebars and safety bar positioned in front of the user.
The handlebars have supplementary controls for both speed and incline, avoiding the necessity to lean forward to access the controls on the main panel. The safety bar is also positioned so that it can be grabbed quickly in the event that the user feels unsteady.
Most treadmills occupy a fair amount of floor space, but with it’s folding design the deck on this model can be lifted to a near vertical position where it then takes up less floor space.
In order to ensure that there are no dramas when you unfold the treadmill’s deck it is fitted with an EZ drop system that allows the deck to unfold in a slow and controlled fashion.
The LifeSpan TR2000 treadmill is protected by a lifetime cover on the motor, frame, and deck with 5 years on all other parts and 1 year labor warranty.
