The Boston Marathon treadmill 2.0 features an open running platform which by virtue of some unique design elements has made it possible to do away with the traditional motor casing and the support arms that many serious runners feel to be constraining.

It has a 20″ x 62″ tread belt which is driven by a huge 3.0 CHP Commercial Plus motor that propels the running surface at speeds of up to 12 MPH. The running deck has the ability to incline up to 20% of grade and to decline to – 6 % of grade.

This model utilizes iFIT technology. This innovative feature utilizes internet connectivity in order to allow you to experience trails all over the world and watch your progress on the display map. The treadmill has sensors that are able to detect the user’s stride and monitor each separate foot fall. Speed can be adjusted within the range 1 to 12 MPH and the deck  incline between the values of – 6 % to 20% of grade.

In addition to the 20% of positive inclination that can be adjusted by the simple “Quick Incline” system the deck is also able to decline to – 6%. This feature is usually only found on more expensive models and has the benefit of activating different muscles by walking at a decline. This is claimed to burn more calories than walking on a flat surface and stimulate more muscle for faster results.

The treadmill features a universal iPOD port. Connecting either an iPOD or any other MP3 player allows you to  enjoy your favorite music or an audio book through the built-in Intermix Acoustics 3.0 EQ sound system.
