Sole F83 Treadmill Review

This is a space saver (folding) model that has a 20″ x 60 ” running surface. The Sole F83 treadmill is driven by a 3.25 HP continuous duty motor capable of driving the belt at speeds of up to 12 mph and inclines of up to 15 deg. of grade.

This model features a powder coated all-steel welded frame and heavy duty stable incline. The chassis and motor fitted are the heaviest in it’s class. The treadmill is finished in an epoxy powder coated paint, baked to appliance finish durability. This finish protects the all-steel construction, along with welded steel, not bolted, the frames are indestructible and have a lifetime warranty.

The industrial quality motor fitted to this treadmill has a large diameter, all-steel zinc coated balanced flywheel for a vibration-free secure running/walking surface. The flywheel causes the motor to run cooler with less amp draw and extend the life off the motor. This also allows for a start speed of 0.1mph or 1/10 of 1mph. that is super slow and allows very easy and smooth starts.

High-end rollers that are usually fitted on hi-end treadmills are used on this model. These are 2.75” rollers with a sealed bearing design and copper ground wires for each roller to reduce static. Larger rollers make for a larger contact surface against the belt and longer roller and belt life. This makes for smooth, quiet, static free motion that will stand the test of time.

Double woven 2-ply belts with four layers are employed on the running surface. Two rubber layers over a middle PVC layer with a nylon backing that rolls over the deck and rollers. The rubber provides the durability, the PVC stops the belt from over-stretching and the nylon provides a smooth static free surface to glide over the deck and rollers.

The Whisper Deck on the treadmill is superior to any other on the market. Most treadmill decks have a Phenolic coating to make them smooth, quiet and durable, but this deck is exceptionally smooth and quiet. It is also so durable that Sole offer a lifetime warranty on the product.

This is a folding treadmill – when not in use, the treadmill deck safely locks into place. In fact this is one of the best folding treadmill designs on the market. The design features a patented all gear rack & pinion system with the “Safety Lock” deck design that locks the deck into place when the treadmill is in the upright position.

The treadmill also comes with the “Easy Assist” folding deck design. This unique feature allows you to release the deck, step back and the deck will unfold itself effortlessly while you watch.

This particular model offers the stability and durability of all Sole Treadmills, and includes the proprietary “Cushion Flex” decks. This unique system offers stability for the user while providing minimal stress to hips, knees ankles and spine during your fitness workout.

The treadmill combines 6, easy-to-follow pre-programmed workouts with two customizable workout fitness programs.

The treadmill’s console is user friendly with a Tri Color display. The data that is displayed at all times include Speed, Incline, Time, Distance Traveled, Calories, Pulse and Pace. There is also a 1/4 mile track feature and a Peak and Valley graph for different programs. The Sole F83 gives excellent readout and visual pulse detection without missing a beat.

The treadmill’s console also has a “Message Board” system. This is an alphanumeric text center that sends scrolling messages to the user in to guide them through all of the details of every fitness workout. For example if you are uncertain as to how to set up the user profile workout, just push the user profile button and the message board will walk you though the rest. You can imagine the message board as having a friend standing next to you reading from the owner’s manual on how to operate the treadmill.

The message board on the treadmill is very easy to use and will log your entire fitness workout after you are finished, so you can see your progress.
