Yowza Smyrna - is an intermediate level treadmill in the Yowza range. The Smyrna is a non-folding treadmill and at the time of writing is probably one of the the cheapest, quality non-folding treadmills available. It has a spacious 20" x 60 " tread belt and is powered by a 3.0 HP, continuous duty, commercial grade motor. The Yowza Smyrna has a variety of Workout Programs that are split amongst the following functional groups including: Target programs; Pre-set programs; Speed Interval program; Weight Loss programs; and Heart Rate Control program.
The running surface has a Floating Deck system that rests on multi-durometer elastomer rings which forms the shock absorption system that helps to protect your ankles, knees, hips, and back by minimizing the impact to these areas. A popular feature on treadmills is wireless heart rate control. On the Smyrna this is provided by a Polar wireless transmitter that is worn by the user during training and in addition to providing continuous monitoring of the user's heart rate can also be used to modulate the intensity of the workout in sympathy with the user's heart rate. The console incorporates a large red LED display. This display tracks all of the usual workout parameters and has a modern pleasing design in keeping with the clean lines of the rest of the treadmill. The console incorporates a workout cooling fan, cup holder, and Hi-FI speakers that can be hooked up to an iPOD or any other MP3 player. The Yowza Smyrna treadmill is powered by a Commercial grade 3.0 HP. quiet, continuous drive motor. This is a CHP rated motor which means that the stated horsepower is what the motor is able to produce over a sustained period of time without overheating. The motor is also fitted with a heavy, precision balanced flywheel in order to ensure smooth running of the tread belt.
...floating deck! When assessing the suitability of a treadmill a component that is often overlooked is the running deck. The design and composition of the deck can often have a big effect on the overall feel and performance of the treadmill. The Yowza Smyrna features a "Floating Deck" design that rests on multi-durometer elastomer rings. This provides a soft landing surface in front with a firm surface on which to push off from at the rear. WEIGHT LOSS: The in-built "Weight loss" program is able to adjust both the speed and incline and offers 12 different intensity levels. 5. HEART RATE CONTROL PROGRAM: the built-in "Heart rate control" program automatically reads heart rate via the Polar transmitter and adjusts both speed and incline to maintain optimal performance.
…check your pulse! The Yowza Smyrna comes with wireless heart rate monitoring. This is achieved using a Polar transmitter (supplied) which the user wears during training and sends the information back to a receiver in the treadmill to be displayed upon the console mounted display. It's well known that heart-rate training makes your workout more effective. This is more popularly known as working out in your "target heart-rate zone". When you stay in this zone, you can get a more effective workout in less time. The Yowza Smyrna comes equipped with Wireless Heart Rate control. When the "Heart Rate Control" program is selected the treadmill automatically adjusts the intensity of the workout in accordance with the user's heart rate. The Polar wireless heart rate transmitter feeds back information about the user's pulse rate to the treadmill's computer. The computer then makes adjustments to the intensity of the workout by varying the speed or incline in sympathy with the user's heart rate so that they are always in the optimum target fitness zone.

The Smyrna treadmill allows you to listen to your favorite music while you workout through built-in Hi-FI speakers. You simply connect your iPOD or MP3 Player to the system via an audio jack in order to enjoy your favorite music through the console mounted Hi-Fi speakers.
