Smooth Fitness Agile Dynamic Motion Trainer - this exercise equipment is what Smooth Fitness refer to as a "Dynamic Motion Trainer" hence DMT. In essence this is an elliptical trainer, BUT whereas normal elliptical machines offer only one limited motion, the Agile DMT offers twelve "dynamic" motions and twenty levels of intensity. Smooth Fitness claim that the Agile DMT's unique motion strengthens and tones muscles throughout the entire body during an intense cardio workout, yet it still minimizes joint stress like traditional ellipticals.

...be your own trainer! Using the Manual Program you can create your own personalized workout, or simply experiment with the available options. Basically there are three Target Programs to choose from. The "Time" program allows you to choose a preset time interval or key in your own. You can then use the Elite Touch thumb sensors to vary the intensity and motion pattern. The "Distance" program allows you to choose a preset distance or enter your own. You can use the amazing Lite Touch thumb sensors to vary the intensity and motion pattern. The "Calories" program is an ideal program for those who are watching their calories or have goals based on calorie counts. Simply enter the number of calories you would like to burn and begin. For an added challenge, use the Lite Touch thumb sensors to adjust the intensity and motion pattern.
...interval training workout! This program allows you to reach for your target heart rate and improve cardiovascular endurance with higher intensity routines. Alternate high-intensity periods with periods of cool-down. The intervals within this program offer great balance between cardio, fat burning and muscle toning. Each interval can be adjusted at will.
...endurance training workout! This program commences in warm-up mode, and then gradually increases the intensity incrementally to burn fat and calories and build stamina. A cooling down period follows the final level of intensity. Each of the eight levels is adjustable. Vary Agile motions along the way for maximum benefit.
...vary your power output! This program uses the "Watts Control". The wattage level can be pre-selected or you can select your own. Resistance changes automatically during this routine, but can be adjusted if needed.
...burn the fat! It is well known that exercising for longer periods of time at a reduced level of intensity encourages your body to burn more calories and fat. The preset levels are optimal for this routine, but are completely customizable to suit any fitness level.
… let your heart take control! The Heart Rate Control program consists of a Warm-up, Main Program and Cool Down. The elliptical machine determines a preset maximum target heart rate based upon your sex, height, weight and age, or you can adjust it to whatever maximum target workout rate you want. Once you start, the program takes you through a mild warm-up routine, a powerful workout and a cool-down phase for a complete cardio program. All settings are customizable.

Summary: The concept behind the Dynamic Motion Trainer is that it offers the user the benefits of a cardio vasculour and muscle toning brought about by a variety of body movements that ordinarily would require the use of three or four different types of exercise equipment. There are 12 bio mechanically correct motion levels and 20 intensity levels resulting in a huge variety of possible combined motions. The pivoting foot pedals have been designed in order to eliminate the "heel slap" that can cause toe numbness and sore arches. The intensity and motion of the workout can be controlled without taking your hands off the handlebars by using the "Lite Touch" thumb control. This requires the user to slide their thumb over the infrared sensor to change the Agile DMT's resistance or transform from a the standard elliptical motion to another. The DMT is equipped with "Heart Rate Control" and comes with a wireless chest strap. The Agile DMT will automatically adjust the intensity of your workouts to control your heart rate at the rate you set. There are also handgrip monitors so you can track your pulse even when not wearing the wireless chest strap.
