This trainer provides the benefits of three different exercise machines in one compact unit. The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5, with it's "Step-N-Go" technology does away with the requirement for a power socket and combines the actions of a treadmill, a stair climber and an elliptical trainer.
This ability to combine three different types of exercise machine into one unit has resulted in the "treadclimber" being one of the most popular cardio exercise devices on the market.
This model is the entry level machine in the Bowflex TreadClimber range and as it is NOT driven by a motor does not require an electricity supply in order to power it.
Lets examine some of the features:
... track your progress
The ergonomically designed console houses an LCD display which reports on your primary workout parameters. The moment you start to use the machine the display will track your speed, your elapsed time, distance traveled, and calories burned during the workout.
… treadmill action
The machine's walking surface is split down the middle so that in actual fact there are two independent surfaces. Splitting the treadle into two separate belts, the machine is able to deliver the walking action of a treadmill that strengthens the leg and the gluteal muscle group with the added benefit of engaging the muscles that help with balance.
… stair climber action
The pumping action of the separate treadles replicates the highly effective aerobic exertion of stepping. This offers a great cardio workout, but with the added benefits of low impact on the joints that this type of exercise affords.
... elliptical action
As the machine's treadles rise to meet your stride, the impact on your joints is reduced, so you enjoy the same smooth, ergonomic motion of the best elliptical machines. This again results in a good cardio vascular, but low impact workout.
… take the shock out of exercising
Walking and running are the most natural and enjoyable forms of exercising you can engage in but the continual pounding can take a toll on your joints.
The treadle action, unique to the tread climber, helps to reduce the harmful impact on your ankles,
knees, hips and back compared to running on a
... elliptical without restraints
Although conventional elliptical machines are able to provide an excellent cardio vascular workout with minimal impact on your joints they do have one drawback.
This is because on a regular elliptical machine your feet are locked onto the footpad and can become numb after some time. This is not the case with the elliptical mechanism on this machine where your foot is able to move naturally and so avoids this problem.
… warranty details
The Bowflex TC5 tread climber is endorsed by a 1 year warranty on the entire machine.

I used to run 18 miles a week before I had my two children. Since then my exercise has taken a back seat.
I got the TC5 TreadClimber to get back into shape. I love it! The work out is great, I can use it in my home, it doesn't take up much space, and it works great.
It is a little noisy, but for the benefits of getting a in home work out, the noise is not a big factor.
I would highly recommend this machine to anyone looking to get in shape.
I use the Bowflex for (starting) 20 minutes each day after work.
I can read a book while using the machine. In 20 (hopefully build u to 30) minutes, I get a great work out.
After only 3 days, I can already feel a difference in my body!
I read a lot of the comments before I purchased the TC5.
It was easy to put together - took less than an hour.
I started out at 3 min's a day, every day and now am up to 5 min's a day in 2 weeks. So far....so good.
I'm happy with my purchase - it is everything I expected!
I use the Bowflex TC5 to help me lose weight and stay in shape after having my twins last year.
Once I got the hang of the motion it is very easy machine to use and provides a great workout, that is challenging and fun.
I'm looking forward to seeing the results from continually using this machine.
